Wow! What a learning curve month one was as the co-owner of Teach 'n Go!
We worked very closely with Haris, the previous owner (shout out to Haris - who has been unbelievable in this transition) on all aspects of the business. We rolled up the sleeves from the start and got to work on some of the quick wins that we could see. This is a marathon for us - not a sprint; however, it was essential for us to hit the ground running to show the existing customer base that we are solely focused on the improvement and development of Teach 'n Go into the worlds leading school management platform.
When Abs and I took over the business in late December - we saw a massive opportunity to provide a SaaS student management system to schools and language centres in Ireland - as well as growing the brand globally. Teach 'n Go had already been very successful in 5 continents. They have adapted teaching software into their everyday routine - helping them with payments, invoices and billing. Student productivity has also risen - with students actively logging on and downloading course work, checking on their behaviours and viewing any notes from their teachers.
Most schools in Ireland and the UK have yet to actively update their methods of teaching - opting for a more traditional way of managing their students. We plan to change that for schools in Ireland - allowing them to move forward with technology - using a cloud-based solution to free up more time for teaching! ๐
As a business owner, it's essential to be always moving forward and planning what's next, but it's also equally important to take a step back and celebrate success. Our first month as the owners of Teach 'n Go has been tough but extremely rewarding. We got to know our existing customers and outlined our plans for the development of the application in the near future.
Here are some of our monthly highlights from January 2019 ๐
Goals, goals & goals. As business owners, it's critical to set out realistic goals that are attainable and achievable. In December, we mapped out our first quarter in MRR( monthly recurring revenue) and how we planned on achieving that. January was our first early success on our way to our Quarter one target.
When I say we drank a ridiculous amount of coffee during this process - I mean it. โ๏ธ Both our Google searches contain "what is the max number of coffees you can have in a day". However, the result was an amazing new logo that our customer base love.
Check out our slick new logo below.
Sometimes a simple emoji is all it takes ๐
We decided that if we were going to rebrand - we need to put our mark on it. Our design. Our colour and how we want the brand to move forward, in 2019.
Who would have known? Blue isn't blue. Blue is now maritime blue with a hint of red and green ๐ค. Nevertheless, #3658ff blue gives off the most amazing colour. Sold. Sign me up. We decided on #3658ff blue - a natural choice for lads from Dublin, Ireland.๐
We stripped back the landing page to what we felt it needed - a really slick clean UI with an updated colour scheme. Upgraded our features page and added a blog - more on this below.
A place for us to highlight our achievements, educate our users and provide valuable content for teachers and schools in Ireland.
